The Ministry of Child and Family Development is seeking qualified Service Providers to deliver Emergency Care Services for children and youth who require immediate, short-term placement due to urgent safety concerns. These services are designed for situations where a child cannot remain with their family or another out-of-care arrangement, has been removed by the Director, or has experienced a breakdown in an existing placement, with no other suitable option immediately available. Emergency Care Services provide a temporary, safe environment for up to 30 days and are intended only when no less intrusive alternative exists and a secure landing place is urgently needed without requiring long-term stabilization. Service Providers must meet the Province’s established requirements to be considered for a contract with the Director, contingent on program needs and priorities. The solicitation, identified as BC159056 under NAICS code 624230, was posted on June 2, 2026, with responses due by February 28, 2033. The contracting authority for this opportunity is the Ministry of Children and Family Development, and inquiries should be directed to mcfprocurementservices@gov.bc.ca. This opportunity is open to providers capable of delivering timely, appropriate, and safe care in emergency situations, and participation is not guaranteed even if criteria are met, as final selection depends on operational demand and strategic alignment with provincial child welfare objectives.

The Ministry of Child and Family Development (“MCFD”) is seeking qualified Service Providers to deliver Emergency Care Services (“EC Services”) to children and youth. Emergency Care Services provide a short-term placement of up to 30 days for children and youth who cannot live safely with either their family or another Out-of-Care arrangement at the relevant time, or they have been removed from their home by the Director or for whom an existing placement has broken down, and for whom no other appropriate care arrangement is readily available. The EC Services are intended to be used in situations where a child/youth has an emergent need for a safe place or when a “safe landing place” is urgently required but is not known to require stabilization and a less intrusive option is not available. Subject to MCFD program needs and priorities, Service Providers who meet the Province’s requirements under this CFR may be invited to finalize a Contract with the Director.
